Crime reporting experience helps journalist pens fourth novel

A former journalist has called on his past experience to write a new crime novel.

Tony Bassett’s ‘Out For Revenge’ focuses on the drug trade in the West Midlands and is set in and around Birmingham.

The book is the fourth by Tony, who previously worked for the Worcester News and Sunday People, in a series featuring lead character DCI Gavin Roscoe and his sergeant Sunita Roy.

He spent months researching the drug trade in Birmingham prior to writing his latest novel.

Out For Revenge

Tony said: “Unlike London, where the drug crime is widespread, there is a small number of organised drug gangs in Birmingham who are widely known about and who compete for customers.

“I thought this would make an interesting subject for this novel.

“I’ve also used my experience of working as an investigative journalist to show how a police informer can infiltrate a drugs gang.”

The book has been released on Amazon by London publisher The Book Folks.
