High-flying journalists to compete for Student of the Year prize

Five high-flying journalists are to do battle for the prestigioius Student of the Year prize at this year’s NCTJ Awards for Excellence after achieving outstanding results in their exams.

Of the 1,163 students who completed NCTJ-accredited courses in 2021-22, five have been selected for the shortlist, on the basis of their performance in the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism.

As previously reported on HTFP, the shortlists for the other Awards for Excellence categories were published in December.

The Student of the Year shortlist is being announced now after students studying in 2021-22 received their final diploma results earlier in the month.
