Liz HazeltonA regional editorial chief has been promoted to a new national role after almost two years.

MyLondon editorial director Liz Hazelton has moved to take up the same role with its Reach plc stablemate the Daily Express.

Liz, pictured, had been with MyLondon since January 2021 and prior to that spent three-and-a-half years as deputy editorial director at the Daily Mirror.

Following her promotion, David Bartlett will now oversee MyLondon as the audience and content director for London and South East. Andy Worden, the title’s editor, already reports to David.

Posting on Twitter, Liz said she had had “an incredible start” to her new role, which she began last month.

She added: “A huge thank you to the incredible MyLondon team who have achieved so much in such a short time.”

Liz began her career on the Halesowen News in 2002, later moving to the Coventry Telegraph and Caters News Agency.

She then spent nine years with Mail Online, where she became deputy editor, before joining the Mirror as an associate editor in 2016.
