Readers urged to back high streets in sister titles’ campaign

Three sister titles have urged readers to support their local high streets in a new campaign.

The Derby Telegraph, Lincolnshire Echo and Nottingham Post have joined forces for the ‘Love Your Local’ drive, which aims to highlight the struggles faced by independent businesses across Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

The campaign is also being run across the print titles’ counterpart websites – Derbyshire Live, Lincolnshire Live and Nottinghamshire Live.

The Post splashed on the campaign’s launch on its front page yesterday (27), pictured, focusing on business in the Bulwell area of Nottingham.

The Reach plc-owned titles’ senior editor Natalie Fahy told HTFP: “Times are tough for small, independent businesses across all of the titles I oversee.

“We’ve run several stories over recent weeks about businesses that made it out of the pandemic, but are now closing down due to lack of footfall.

“We can all agree that our towns and cities would be lesser places without these shops and cafes, and you can often save yourself money by visiting them.

“We will be highlighting a different independent business each week on Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire Live and the associated print titles.”
