Digital content chief quits daily to take up ITV role

A digital content editor has left a regional daily to take up a new role as a production journalist with ITV.

The Derby Telegraph’s Nick Reid has said farewell to the newspaper and its companion website Derbyshire Live after joining ITV’s Central News team.

Nick spent four years at the Telegraph, working as a senior reporter and magistrates’ court reporter prior to taking up his more recent role.

He announced his departure by posting an image of his farewell front page from the paper, pictured, on Twitter.

Posting on 25 March, he wrote: “After four years working for [the Telegraph], yesterday marked my last day on the title.

“I’ve worked with loads of amazing people in that time and learned so much. Thank you for my splash. Now on to ITV Central from Monday.”

Nick undertook his NCTJ training at City of Wolverhampton College and began his career on the Coalville times in 2013.

He moved to the Tamworth Herald as a senior reporter in 2015, spending three years there before switching to Derby.
