Asian regional journalists urged to enter annual awards

Yasmin BodalbhaiRegional journalists of Asian heritage are being encouraged to enter an annual media awards scheme.

The Asian Media Awards is now welcoming nominated ahead of its 2022 ceremony later this year.

The awards feature a specific Regional Journalist of the Year category available to those working in print, online and broadcasting.

Last year’s prize was won by ITV Central reporter and presenter Yasmin Bodalbhai, pictured.

Entries are being welcomed until 18 August, with the shortlist being announced on 19 September.

The 2022 ceremony will be held in Manchester on 28 October.

A spokesperson for the Asian Media Awards said: “We are looking forward to hosting the 10th ceremony in Manchester where we will also celebrate landmark moments within the industry since our first event.

“This will be the first year since 2019 when a full quota of categories will be awarded.

“A huge thank you to our dedicated sponsors, partners and panel members for supporting the awards throughout the past two years which was a very challenging time for the hospitality industry.

“Entries to the awards are free and a full list of categories and additional announcements can be viewed on the Asian Media Awards website.”
