Daisy JacksonA regional daily’s acting what’s on editor has left the newspaper to head up an independent rival’s editorial operation.

Daisy Jackson has said farewell to the Machester Evening News to join news and entertainment website The Manc.

Daisy, pictured, will serve as head of editorial at the Manchester-based title, which was launched in 2014.

She had worked for the MEN since 2018, initially serving as a what’s on writer before stepping up to her most recent role.

Daisy announced her departure from the MEN on Twitter.

Posting last month, she wrote: “I’ll be leaving the brilliant MEN at the end of the month, which means there’s a rather lovely job up for grabs.

“If you love Manchester’s cultural scene as much as I do, and can tell its stories, it’s a dream gig.”

She added: “I’m sad to leave but so excited for what’s next.”
