A weekly newspaper has invited TV chef Gordon Ramsay to tour its patch after he branded it a “s***hole”.
The Falkirk Herald has challenged Mr Ramsay to visit the city after he made the insult on his new BBC One quiz show, Bank Balance.
A pair of contestants on the show referred to Falkirk as one of the “five cities in Scotland”, prompting him to reply that it was “not a city. It’s a s***hole”.
The jibe prompted the Herald to tag Mr Ramsay in a Twitter post and offer the invitation.
The Herald said: “We’re not sure what you’re on about Gordon Ramsay. Falkirk has so much to offer – Blackness Castle, the Falkirk Wheel, and a fantastic community in the heart of Scotland.
“Come and visit us and we’ll show you around.”
Herald editor Jill Buchanan, pictured, told HTFP: “I’m not sure when Gordon was last in Falkirk, if ever, but I would be delighted to show him around to highlight all the positivity about the area, including our wonderful communities which have been working hard to support each other during lockdown.”
