The marathon takes place in York on 17 October.

Explaining her charity of choice, India told the Herald: “I wanted to shine a light on children who give up their childhood to look after their loved ones.”

She added: “In school I ran cross country, but I’d never done more than a 10k.

“When lockdown hit, gyms shut and dance classes were cancelled so I took up running.”

India, who ran a half-marathon in July, completed her longest training run, 20 miles, last Sunday.

She will now reduce her mileage until the marathon takes place.

She said: “It’s been a massive challenge with knee issues along the way, but I can’t wait to get on that start line now.”
