Sister weeklies broadcast workout videos online in bid to keep readers fit

Two sister weeklies are broadcasting workout videos online in a bid to keep its readers fit.

The Ulster Herald and Tyrone Herald have teamed up with fitness expert Damien Crowne to launch ‘Get Active with the Herald!’, a wellness initiative for people of all ages and abilities.

Every Thursday morning for the next four weeks Damien Crowne and members of his team from Personal Health & Fitness, Omagh, will run a live 30-minute session via the Ulster Herald & Tyrone Herald Facebook page.

The sessions will include exercises, stretches and mindfulness pointers to help “keep bodies and minds healthy”.

Nigel McDonagh, editor of the Ulster Herald, said: “We’re are delighted to be partnering with local businesses to bring these sessions to our community.

“While there are plenty of online classes available, having a trusted local expert like Damien will make a real difference and hopefully help more people get active.

“We all know how important physical health is to our mental health, so even if we only take the first small steps, it could have a major impact on our lives during these challenging times.”
