Memorial service to be held for editorial boss who died aged 75

Bill JamiesonA memorial service is set to be held for a daily newspaper’s former executive editor who died during the coronavirus lockdown.

Bill Jamieson, who held the role at The Scotsman between 2000 and 2012, passed away in November aged 75.

Now his family have issued an invitation to attend a service of thanksgiving and celebration of his life.

The service will be held at 2pm on Friday 8 October at The Canongate Kirk, in Edinburgh.

Bill, pictured, continued to write a column for The Scotsman until August 2020.

His career accolades included Business Journalist of the Year and overall Journalist of the Year at the 2009 Scottish Press Awards.
