Life of journalist who died during coronavirus lockdown to be celebrated

Mike BristowA celebration of the life of a sports editor who died during the coroanvirus lockdown is set to be held.

Mike Bristow, who ran the sportsdesks at the Wiltshire Times and at times its sister paper the Wiltshire Gazette & Herald, died in January.

Those who knew him, including sportsmen and women throughout Wiltshire, are now being invited to a celebration at Trowbridge Cricket Club.

According to the Gazette & Herald, he “knew everyone in the sporting world in Wiltshire, with enviable contacts across many sports”.

Mike, pictured, was a regular at the club and also supported efforts to attract top class games to Wiltshire.

The celebration will take place from 2pm on Saturday 4 September.
