A regional publisher has launched a new podcast focused on news and politics.

Archant has announced the launch of The New Normal, which will be recorded weekly.

It will be hosted by the company’s business and politics editor Richard Porritt, along with journalists Cash Boyle and Matt Withers.

The trio were previously involved with Archant’s New European podcast prior to the management buyout of The New European newspaper.

A promotional piece in the Eastern Daily Press, published on Friday, states: “Each week your hosts Richard Porritt, Cash Boyle and Matt Withers will be bringing you the week’s news, politics, gags, gaffes and guests.

“In this week’s very first edition they discuss Rishi Sunak’s Budget, Harry and Meghan and the return of youth channel BBC Three.”
