An independent publisher has announced the launch of its fifth local newspaper.

Independent Media Ltd is to launch Saltash Voice this month, which it says will offer the “best local news and sport” for the Cornish town of Saltash.

HTFP reported last year how Independent Media Ltd had taken a controlling stake in Newquay Voice and St Austell Voice, with owner Peter Masters announcing a planned expansion of the business.

The company, which also runs the Sunday Independent, has since launched two further papers, Truro Voice and Bodmin Voice.

The first edition of Saltash Voice is due to be published on 14 April.

Tom Howe, head of sport at the Voice papers, posted on Twitter: “Time to roll out a red carpet for the newest addition to our stable.

“Extending our commitment to provide the best coverage for news and sport in and around Cornwall.”
