Tindle Newspapers has launched the new group-wide drive, entitled ‘Holding our Community together’.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the impact made by Tindle’s titles across England and Wales.

It was officially launched in a comment piece by Colin Channon, editorial manager for the company’s Surrey and Hampshire titles.

Colin, pictured, wrote: “We believe that nobody understands a community like their trusted local newspaper, so we wanted to shout about the difference we make.

“We take pride in the reach, audience engagement and editorial coverage we deliver and the impact we make each week in the areas we serve.

“As well as holding deep local knowledge, we occupy an unrivalled position celebrating the achievements of our communities and holding to account those in authority when questions need to be raised for the public interest.

“We can point to numerous ways we have led the public response to important local issues and each of our local brands will be highlighting this to their local community as the campaign moves ahead.”

Colin went on to note Tindle’s titles are “built on reporting stories about local people”.

He added: “The world has changed and continues to change, yet we are proud of the place we hold in local life.

“We are grateful for the continued support from readers, our newspaper retailers and the advertising and marketing sectors we serve and look forward to sharing all the important news for our various communities across our trusted weekly newspapers and digital platforms, as we rebuild from the shock of the pandemic.

“Most of all, we will value the unique place we hold in the community, reporting on local life as a trusted voice for each one we serve.

“Thank you for supporting us as we carry on, holding our community together.”
