GB News reveals six more regional hires amid hint at forthcoming launch

Hanisha SethiGB News has unveiled six more recruits to its regional reporting team as the new national news channel prepares to launch.

The news service has announced the new hires amid hints the station is soon set to begin broadcasting.

The latest recruits include East Midlands reporter Hanisha Sethi, pictured, who has previously worked for Sky News and RT.

She is joined by Balvinder Sidhu, who has been Good Morning Britain’s Midlands breakfast presenter for eight years.

Kevin Larkin and Ellie Costello have been poached from the BBC to cover Yorkshire and the South-East of England respectively.

David Donaldson and Paul Hawkins have also been recruited, with the former reporting on Scotland and the latter on London.

The station’s chairman Andrew Neil has previously stated a regional focus would be “vital” to the new project, with 120 journalism jobs being created across the United Kingdom.

Other previously revealed regional recruits include Hull Daily Mail journalist Anna Riley.

In a cryptic Twitter post published on Friday morning, the station’s official account wrote: “Good news Great Britain – GB News is coming.”
