An editor has “strenuously denied” claims by anti-vaccination protesters that she is part of a “secret society”.
The bizarre allegation was made against Natalie Fahy, pictured, who edits Reach plc titles the Derby Telegraph, Lincolnshire Echo and Nottingham Post.
The claim was made to Post community reporter Olimpia Zagnat by a demonstrator at a protest outside a coronavirus vaccination centre in Bulwell, Nottingham, last week.
In a subsequent story about the demonstration, Natalie said she “strenuously denied” the claim.
The allegation prompted a number of tongue-in-cheek comments from colleagues.
Graeme Brown, editor the Post’s Reach plc sister daily the Birmingham Mail, wrote on Twitter: “Erm, this is awkward.
“I am not sure if you read the T&Cs of the secret society but it was supposed to remain secret. Consider this a formal warning.”
