Editor leaves regional publisher for new PR role

Ken SymonThe editor of a regional publisher’s business title is leaving his role for a new job in public relations.

Glasgow-based PR consultancy Hollicom has announced the appointment of Scottish Business Insider editor Ken Symon as associate director.

Ken, pictured, had run the Reach-owned title since 2016.

He previously worked as business editor of both the Sunday Herald and The Scotsman.

During his career, Ken also worked as an investigative reporter at the Glasgow Evening Times where he won a UK press award for his work on the Poll Tax.

He will lead the business-to-business side of Hollicom and also work on business development with the executive team

Ken said: “I am delighted to be joining Hollicom as it expands and works to better serve its clients in what is still a very challenging time for many businesses.

“I am looking forward to working a highly creative team to help advise businesses as they face the issues and opportunities of working in the ‘new normal’ as we emerge from the pandemic.”
