Daily to give out free t-shirts and car stickers to subscribers

A daily newspaper is giving free t-shirts and car stickers to subscribers in a pre-election drive.

Scottish daily The National has launched the campaign, which will also see those taking out an annual digital or print subscription receive a pin badge and face mask.

The National’s logo features on the merchandise in the “campaign kits” as well as slogans supporting Scottish independence.

The Glasgow-based daily currently has more than 12,300 subscribers on its books.

In a message to readers, editor Callum Baird said: “This election is all about independence, and our supporters are all about showing off their passion for self-determination.

“These new campaign kits are a great way to demonstrate your support for Yes at such an important time for the movement.

“There has also never been a more important time to support Scotland’s only daily pro-independence newspaper – please consider subscribing today and helping us secure independence.”

Voters in Scotland will go to the polls on 6 May to decide the make-up of the next Scottish Parliament.
