Daily teams up with independent title for week-long investigative series

A daily newspaper has teamed up with an investigative journalism website for a special week-long series.

Glasgow-based daily The Herald is running the series, entitled ‘Who runs Scotland?’, with independent title The Ferret.

The Herald has pledged to give readers an “in-depth insight into Scotland’s corridors of power” with the series, which is running in print but is exclusive to subscribers online.

It provided a splash for the paper yesterday morning, pictured below.

Donald Martin, The Herald’s editor-in-chief, said: “Who runs Scotland is a fascinating and in-depth look at the people and organisations with significant influence over so many aspects of our lives.

“The investigative work and the rich data provided by The Ferret highlights how much of Scotland is controlled and owned by a select few and the extent to which the wealthy and foreign firms operate within the corridors of power.

“It is important in terms of democracy and will hopefully stimulate discussion and debate.”

The series is part of an ongoing partnership between The Herald and The Ferret which launched earlier this year.
