A regional daily has been honoured for the way it has covered the coronavirus crisis on its patch.
The East Anglian Daily Times has been recognised by the Suffolk Says Thanks campaign for “keeping people informed with trusted, unbiased local news”.
The campaign is run as a collaborative project involving volunteer organisations, councils and other bodies.
Jon Neal, chief executive of charity Suffolk Mind, presented EADT editor Brad Jones with a rainbow badge for the newspaper’s role in covering the pandemic.
Mr Neal said: “Keeping people informed with trusted, unbiased local news has been even more important over the last year than ever before.
“And it must have been even more challenging to keep gathering news and reporting it in a timely manner.
“So, on behalf of everyone in Suffolk, I’d like to extend a big ‘Thank You’ to Brad Jones and his team.”
