The editor of a national political news title has left his role to take up a reporting post with a city news website.

Josiah Mortimer has joined MyLondon as its City Hall editor covering politics in the capital.

Josiah, pictured, most recently served as editor of left-wing political news and comment site Left Foot Forward.

He had held the role for four years, having previously completed NCTJ training at News Associates.

As well as working for Left Foot Forward, Josiah had also worked as head of communications at the Electoral Reform Society since 2017.

Bidding farewell to Left Foot Forward, he posted on Twitter: “A massive thank you to all our wonderful readers, writers, monthly supporters, typo correctors, board and colleagues.

“There was never a dull day.”

In praise of his ERS colleagues, Josiah added: “Couldn’t ask for kinder, more passionate and more inspiring colleagues.

“An incredibly vital organisation.”
