News site pledges reporters ‘on the ground’ after launching three new titles

Belfast Live has announced the launch of MyDerry, MyFermanagh and MyTyrone to cover County Tyrone.

The Reach plc-owned site has pledged to have dedicated reporters “on the ground” in the county as part of the expansion, with a dedicated channel being set up for news about the area.

The move follows similar launches by Reach in England and Wales which have seen new titles introduced as channels on already existing sites.

Announcing the MyTyrone launch, Belfast Live editor Ryan Smith told readers the move was “part of our drive to cover news, people and events in your area”.

Ryan, pictured, wrote: “We’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest breaking news and tell the stories of the people who live from Dungannon to Omagh.

“Belfast Live will have dedicated reporters on the ground in Co Tyrone, bringing you the best coverage for your area.

“We’re always open to ideas and if there’s a story that you think needs reported or a person doing great things in the community, you can send us an email at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to cover it.

“However you follow MyTyrone, you can be sure of finding even more coverage of the local stories you care about.”

Discussing the launches generally, Ryan said: “We’re delighted to be expanding our website and bringing our style of journalism to the people of Derry, Fermanagh and Tyrone.

“In just six years, Belfast Live has grown to be the most-read commercial news publisher in Northern Ireland and this is part of our plans to extend our reach at a local level in areas across the country.
