At least 15 editorial jobs created as publisher expands new titles

Alan Woods newAt least 15 editorial jobs have been created in a regional publisher’s expansion of two of its newest titles.

Reach plc has announced the recruitment drive as it looks to expand on its Team Dogs and 2Chill projects, which were launched earlier this year.

HTFP reported in March on the launch of Team Dogs, a website that will feature a directory of recommendations for pet owners, and 2Chill, a review site that will only carry positive recommendations.

The new jobs were announced in a series of Twitter posts by Reach niche brands director Alan Woods, pictured.

Posts created include social media director, live news writer, communities editor and engagement and relationships writer.

The company is also seeking five creative life writers, two video producers and two engagement producers.

An unspecified number of content editors and a team of niche writers are being recruited for the two titles too.

Posting on Twitter, Alan said: “It’s fair to say Team Dogs and 2Chill are going to be massive, and we’re now at a point where we have lots and lots of editorial jobs up for grabs.”

Describing the recruitment process as “one of the most exciting I have worked on”, Alan stated he had worked with Reach editorial revenue director Ceri Gould Thomas, Liverpool Echo editor Maria Breslin, Western Mail editor Catrin Pascoe and the publisher’s head of diversity and inclusion Julie Humphreys to “ensure our campaign is 100pc inclusive”.

He added: “We’re so keen to recruit into these roles from a diverse range of backgrounds.

“None of these jobs require an NCTJ qualification, a university degree or similar.

“If you think of yourself as enthusiastic, great on detail and creative then you should absolutely apply.”

HTFP has approached Reach for further information on the sites’ expansion.
