Three regional publishers have been shortlisted for awards celebrating the best of podcasting.

Archant, DC Thomson and Reach plc have secured nominations for the Publisher Podcast Awards, which will be held in March.

Archant secured three nominations, and DC Thomson and Reach two apiece.

Reach-owned Berkshire Live programme The Real Reading Podcast and Archant’s Weird Norfolk series are among the nominees in the Best Local & Community Podcast category, while Archant’s The New European Podcast is up for the Best News & Current Affairs prize.

Reach’s Mane Of Your Own is up for Best Specialist Podcast, while both Archant and DC Thomson are shortlisted in the Best Sport Podcast category.

Archant’s nomination comes courtesy of its Pinkun.com Norwich City Podcast, while DC Thomson’s is for Twa Teams, One Street, which focuses on the fortunes of rival football clubs Dundee and Dundee United.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held at London’s Proud Cabaret City on Wednesday 4 March.
