Regional press backs app drive in latest phase of coronavirus campaign

Regional dailies have carried front page calls for readers to download the NHS Covid-19 app in the latest phase of a government campaign.

Regional and national newspapers ran the plea on their front pages on Saturday as part of the ‘Big app download weekend’ campaign.

The wraparound cover appeared as part of the ‘All in, all together’ coronavirus public information campaign.

The advertising partnership, launched in April, was developed by the newspaper industry and supported by the Society of Editors.

Gazette app

Titles to run the latest message included Blackpool daily The Gazette, pictured above.

This morning the Yorkshire Evening Post has also given over its front page to an NHS awareness campaign.

YEP lockdown

The advice is aimed at patients waiting for treatment in Leeds after localised lockdown measures were introduced in the city.
