Reach plc has created a new role in a bid to achieve a “truly diverse and inclusive workforce”.

Dr Julie Humphreys has been appointed the publisher’s first head of diversity and inclusion.

Julie, pictured, joins Reach from the FTSE 20 Compass Group, where she was group head of diversity and inclusion.

She will report directly into CEO Jim Mullen and will be part of the Human Resources Senior Leadership Team.

Reach chief executive Jim Mullen said: “2020 has shone a light on the importance of diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing.

“With Julie’s appointment, we are committing to making positive changes at Reach for the long-term.”

Julie added: “Reach is committed to building a more inclusive culture, there is already so much work going on behind the scenes to make that happen, I’m excited to join and build on that work with passionate people.”
