Publisher launches group-wide ‘big thank you’ bid for key workers

A regional publisher has launched a group-wide bid to say a “big thank you” to the nation’s key workers.

JPIMedia is aiming to showcase the “astonishing lengths” key workers and voluntary organisations have gone to over the last 12 weeks with the new campaign.

The company is urging readers to share pictures and messages of those who have made a difference to their lives during the coronavirus crisis.

The campaign’s launch provided a splash today for dailies including the Wigan Post, Lancashire Post and Portsmouth daily The News.

In a message to readers, JPIMedia editor-in-chief Jeremy Clifford said: “Over the past 12 weeks we have seen the heroic efforts of so many key workers helping to keep us safe and healthy.

“There have been so many examples and stories about people’s acts of kindness and the personal risks to their own safety to help others.

“Our Big Thank You is our opportunity to give you the chance to say thanks.

“It can be a thank you to friends, loved ones, neighbours or employees who have done so much through this pandemic – acknowledging that their work is still ongoing.”
