Editors win promotions as new structure rolled out

Jenna Thompson 1Editors have won promotions as a regional publisher continues to reveal details of a restructure of its senior management operations.

Reach plc has revealed new roles for its editors in Yorkshire and the Humber, which will see current Hull Live digital editor Jenna Thompson, pictured, become senior editor for the region.

As a result of Jenna’s promotion, Grimsby Live digital editor Jamie Macaskill will take on the role as editor of both his current title and Hull Live, with operational responsibility for both newsrooms.

Huddersfield Daily Examiner Wayne Ankers will serve as editor of the company’s Yorkshire Live brand.

Yorkshire Live is based on the examinerlive.co.uk domain name, and incorporates news from the Examiner and other parts of Yorkshire, with separate channels appearing on the site for North Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.

The same team is also responsible for Leeds Live, which is based on a standalone site.

Reach previously announced changes to its operations in Yorkshire, the Humber and the North-East of England as part of a restructure following its announcement that around 550 roles will be made redundant across the country.

The new structure will see Neil Hodgkinson become marketplace publisher for the North East and Yorkshire, which will see him take responsibility for print brands and the “market positioning of products in local areas”.

Helen Dalby will serve as audience and content director for the same region, with local editors reporting to her.
