A regional daily has launched a front page bid to help give rough sleepers shelter this winter.

The Derby Telegraph and its Derbyshire Live sister website have lent their backing to the Framework Winter Appeal 2020 Homeless to Home, which aims to help those sleeping on the streets.

The campaign is led by Framework, a charity which provides tailored accommodation and support in the community for vulnerable young people in several areas of Derbyshire.

Its launch provided a splash for the Telegraph last Thursday, pictured below.

In a message to readers, editor Natalie Fahy said: “For the last couple of years we have worked closely with Framework and our readers have helped us raise tens of thousands of pounds in that time.

“This year is no different and it is, if anything, even more vital that we continue to help some of the most vulnerable people in our community amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Homelessness is an issue that is evidently close to our readers’ hearts, as it is with ours, so hopefully you will respond to the campaign and donate whatever you can to help those who require it most.”
