Work to begin on transforming former daily office into luxury hotel

Work is set to start on transforming a former regional daily office into a £120m luxury boutique hotel.

HTFP previously reported how the Coventry Telegraph’s former Corporation Street home had been saved from demolition after a developer bought the premises.

Work to strip out the building began last year, and the Telegraph has now reported work is set to move ahead on the new hotel.

The building will have 88 bedrooms, a ground floor restaurant and bar, meeting rooms, penthouse suites and a rooftop bar.

It is estimated the project will create around 130 jobs.

As part of the plans, 1,270 student flats will also be built on the site.

The building has stood empty since July 2012, when the Telegraph moved just outside the ring road to Coventry’s Canal Basin.
