Regionals in line for print and digital innovation awards

The shortlist has been announced for a set of media awards designed to celebrate the best in news media print and digital production and innovation with several regional newspapers in the running for top prizes.

The newsawards 2019 will take place on 8 May at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

Several categories are restricted to local and regional newspapers, but regional publishers and journalists have also made serious inroads into the national categories this time round.

They include regional news website ChronicleLive, Kent Online and the Warrington Guardian which take on the likes of The Guardia, the Telegraph and the Times and Sunday Times in the website of the year category.
