A regional publisher has closed five lifestyle magazines aimed at some of London’s most affluent communities.
Archant has confirmed the closure of The Resident, Guide Resident, Hill Resident, Living South Resident and SW Resident.
However, The Resident will continue as a digital-only title.
It is understood one editorial and two advertising staff have been made redundant as a result of the move.
An Archant spokesman told HTFP: “Archant can confirm that the London Resident Magazines have closed however The Resident will continue to be published online as a digital only version following strong growth in its audiences.”
The company relaunched its 16-strong portfolio of London magazines under the ‘Resident’ brand in 2013.
However, Platinum Resident, Westside Resident, Angel Resident and the Barnes and Richmond Resident ceased publication in 2017.
The remaining magazines’ content includes neighbourhood news, a going out guide, homes and interiors, education, fashion, health and beauty, food and drink and travel.

Majority of Resident mags are made up of shared content just to curry favour with city estate agents so now those agents have pretty much walked away, even at give away ad rates the magazines will not be missed,
Apparently it’s all about cutting costs and reducing overheads yet the place is still top heavy with managers managing other managers and producing nothing of value- go figure
