Regional journalist covers A-Level results – on same day she receives her own

A regional journalist marked her first week in the job by covering students’ A-Level results on the same day she received her own.

KM Group apprentice Megan Carr began work with the independent publisher on Monday, but joined thousands of students across the country in opening up the envelope this morning.

Megan, pictured, found out she had achieved an A* in sociology, A in media and B in photography before getting back to work and covering other results coming in from across Kent.

A video of her opening her results was posted on KM Group website Kent Online’s A-Level live blog.

Editorial director Ian Carter told HTFP: “Megan only started on Monday but has really impressed us all.

“She wasn’t at all daunted by reporting on the A-Level results at the same time as picking her own up and threw herself into it. Thankfully her results were great – she was the highest achiever at her school.

“We’ve been running our apprentice scheme for a number of years in Kent and recently expanded it to our Midlands titles.

“It’s great to see such enthusiasm from people keen to enter the industry.”

The irony of Megan achieving a photography qualification and having her story illustrated by such a rubbish picture won’t be lost on HTFP readers.
