Publisher uses tube ads to promote new London news website

Tube trains and buses have been used to advertise a regional publisher’s London-wide news website as part of a new marketing campaign.

Advertisements carrying MyLondon branding are being found on public transport across the capital as part of Reach plc’s marketing campaign to promote the brand.

MyLondon was launched in December to cover the whole capital, and it absorbed Reach’s existing GetWestLondon and Croydon Advertiser sites as a result.

The new campaign has seen adverts appear in London Underground carriages and buses, while digital displays and social media ads targeting key London boroughs have also been produced.

It promotes everything the site has to offer, from ‘breaking news, controversial views’ to ‘crafty beers, your best night out in years’.

Ceri Gould, editor-in-chief of Reach plc South East and Cambridge, said: “Everything stems from our belief that London is the best city ever.

“Our start point and end point is that we love London – and our audience is everyone who feels the same.

“Of course it infuriates, it frustrates us, it thrills us and excites us in equal measure. We can criticise it but woe betide anyone else who dares.”
