A woman fighting leukaemia has thanked a newspaper after its staff raised hundreds of pounds for her treatment in a charity running challenge.
Lynn News staff took part in a 10k race to raise money for 48-year-old Heather Bellamy, a woman from its patch who has acute myeloid leukaemia.
Her illness requires treatment in America and will cost roughly $25,000 a month.
In total, there has been over £36,800 raised by 1,002 people on Heather’s GoFundMe page.
The News presented a cheque for £270 to Sonny Meijer, a friend of Ms Bellamy’s family.
Ms Bellamy told the News: “I can’t thank you all enough for the fundraising and the continued support of the Lynn News.”
The fundraising page, which can be found here, has a fundraising target of £250,000.
