Newspaper hopes front page will ‘jog memories’ of missing chef

Claudia

The local newspaper of missing chef Claudia Lawrence has marked the 10th anniversary of her disappearance with a front-page wraparound which its editor hopes will ‘jog memories.”

Yesterday marked a decade since Claudia, a chef at the University of York, went missing aged 35.

York daily The Press devoted nine pages to the story, including interviews by crime reporter Dan Bean with Claudia’s parents, her best friend, the police and academics.

The front page wrap was made up of a montage of family photos of Claudia with the simple message that she isn’t forgotten.

Editor Nigel Burton said: “Hopefully our coverage will jog people’s memories about that day and help solve the mystery of what happened ten years ago.”

North Yorkshire police are continuing to treat the case as a murder investigationm but say they are still waiting for information from the public that would help them make significant progress.
