Christine BuckleyA former regional press reporter has been re-elected as editor of The Journalist.

Christine Buckley, pictured, will continue to run the magazine of the National Union of Journalists in her role, to which she was first appointed in 2009.

Eight other candidates featured on the ballot paper.

Christine began her career working for local newspapers including the Bedfordshire Express, Windsor Observer , the Slough and Windsor Express and a magazine produced by the Bucks Free Press.

She later moved to the nationals, and was industrial correspondent at The Times for 14 years before taking up her current role.

Christine said: “I’m very proud to be re-elected by the NUJ’s membership to edit their magazine The Journalist.

“I try to give The Journalist the broadest appeal possible so we keep hold of our members and attract new ones.

“I’m always glad when the magazine gets positive feedback but when you’re in an elected position the ultimate test is in the ballot.

“Thanks to all who voted for me and supported me and to my fellow candidates for a decent and fair contest.”
