A former weekly editor has returned to his old stable of titles in a new print content editing role.

Robert Lloyd, left, edited both the Carmarthen Journal and Llanelli Star between 2005 and 2008 and was also a former deputy.

He left the newspapers to set up his own media consultancy and later took up the role of station manager and head of news at Bay TV in Swansea.

Now he is back at his former titles, now under the ownership of Reach plc whose predecessor company Trinity Mirror bought them in 2015 as part of its takeover of Local World.

His new role will see him working across the Evening Post, South Wales Echo, Western Mail and eight South Wales weekly titles.

Other recent job moves in the regional press include the following:

* Scott MacNab has been appointed political editor of The Scotsman and will be joined on the politics desk by Gina Davidson as deputy political editor, Chris McCall as political correspondent and Westminster correspondent Paris Gourtsoyannis. Meanwhile Rebecca Parker, previously assistant digital editor of The Scotsman and Edinburgh Evening News, has moved to Herald Scotland to become head of audience and engagement.

* Greg Flucker has reversed the usual career route by moving from PR into journalism.  Previously a corporate media relations officer at the NSPCC, he has now joined the Dundee Evening Telegraph as a reporter.

* Libby McBride. previously acting executive editor (digital) at the Cambridge News, has landed a role as assistant news editore at Mirror Online.

* Julia Rampen has joined the Liverpool Echo as digital night editor managing online evening content for its website. She was previously the digital news editor for the New Statesman and deputy editor of the online money section of the Daily Mirror.

* Conor Gogarty has joined the Bristol Post and its companion website BristolLIve as a senior reporter.  He was previously a senior reporter at Gloucestershire Live and has also worked for the Essex Chronicle.  Alexander Brock has also joined the Post as a senior reporter, having previously worked at the Surrey Advertiser.

* Vicky Gayle has been appointed as a data investigations reporter at Newsquest Essex. She was previously a news reporter at the Colchester Gazette and Essex County Standard.
