Former daily journalist nominated for national blogging award

Helen CopsonA former deputy news editor at a regional daily has been nominated for a national blogging award.

Helen Copson, used used to work on the Plymouth Herald and still writes a column for its Plymouth Live sister website, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Britmums Brilliance in Blogging Awards 2019.

Helen’s ‘Twins, Tantrums and Cold Coffee’ blog won the Fresh Voice category in the top industry awards last year – a section for bloggers who had only been blogging for less than 18 months.

Now the 39-year-old is taking on more experienced and popular bloggers in the Readers’ Choice category.

Helen told Plymouth Live: “I’m really shocked to reach the final. I was over the moon to win the Fresh Voice category last year when I’d only been blogging for less than a year.

“But to be a finalist in the Readers’ Choice is a massive surprise as it’s for all the bigger, experienced bloggers.

“I’m up against some great people so have zero expectations.

“I’m just chuffed to be shortlisted and it would be great if anyone fancied voting for me.”
