Ex-editor and BBC news chief joins Society of Editors Conference line-up

James hardingA former Times editor who also served as the BBC’s director of news and current affairs has joined this year’s Society of Editors Conference line-up.

James Harding, left, is the latest speaker to be announced for the conference, which will take place on 12 November.

Three national editors have already been announced as speakers – Ted Verity, of The Mail on Sunday, Alison Phillips, of the Daily Mirror, and Chris Evans, of the Daily Telegraph.

Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham was also unveiled as part of the line-up last week.

Ian Murray, executive director of the Society of Editors commented: “This year’s line-up is growing ever stronger and we are delighted that James can join us to add his immense knowledge and experience to our debates.

“As always, the SoE Conference is a must-attend date in the media calendar.”

The conference will be held at Stationers’ Hall, in London.
