Two weeks left for journalists to submit Regional Press Awards entries

Nick FerrariJournalists have two weeks left to submit their entries for this year’s Regional Press Awards.

The deadline for the awards, organised by the Society of Editors, is Tuesday 5 March, with shortlists being published the following month.

The SoE has announced broadcaster Nick Ferrari will once again host this year’s awards ceremony, which will be held at IET London, Savoy Place, on Friday 17 May.

New categories among the 38 up for grabs this year include Digital Live News Reporter of the Year and Data Journalist of the Year, Magazine of the Year, Magazine Designer of the Year and Free Weekly Newspaper of the Year’.

This year also sees the launch of the The Cathryn Nicoll Interviewer of the Year Award, set up in memory of the former Croydon Advertiser news editor.

Ian Murray, executive director of the Society of Editors and chairman of the judges, said: “Nick has always been a fantastic host of these awards, we are looking forward to welcoming him again on a night that celebrates the very best of regional journalism.”

The Society of Editors organises the awards on behalf of the industry with the help of a range of sponsors including Foot Anstey, HoldtheFrontPage, the NMA and the Press Association.
