Weekly moves to new home after 10 years at high street office

A weekly newspaper has moved to a new office after 10 years in its former town centre home.

The Dereham Times has left its High Street headquarters is now based at Breckland Business Centre, around a five-minute walk away.

The Times had been based on High Street since February 2008, and the office also served as home of the Fakenham and Wells Times, as well as a district office of Archant sister title the Eastern Daily Press.

To coincide with the move, the title has appointed Donna-Louise Bishop as a senior reporter. She will work with editor Adam Lazzari and reporter Steve Shaw.

Said Adam: “We are proud to continue working in the centre of Dereham, ensuring that we are at the heart of the community.

“Donna-Louise is a welcome addition to the team and we look forward to hearing from you with any stories you may have.”

Donna-Louise, who previously worked for Archant from 2010 to 2016, is returning to journalism after working as a creative writing tutor.

She said: “I am really looking forward to working on the local paper for the area.”

    I can only wish the very best of luck to all involved in this latest Archant branch office reshuffle,hopefully the move won’t further impact on the steady copy sale decline of the DFT,down another 11pc to a woeful 3,900 copies which, in a town of around 35,000 people,shows just how few people see the DT these days.
