University launches master’s degree in media management

A new master’s degree in media management has been launched by a university.

Queen Margaret University, in Musselburgh, has launched the course, which focuses on “developing an understanding of media and creative businesses and the global environment in which they operate”.

The degree aims to equip graduates with the business skills required to pursue a management career in the media and creative industries.

The course is led by Professor Philip Drake who has taught and led similar successful courses at Edge Hill, Middlesex and Stirling Universities.

Professor Drake said: “This degree is part of our new suite of courses created to reflect the industry’s changing employment landscape and is aimed at people interested or already employed in international media industries, as well as advertising, marketing and other associated careers.

“The course brings together the study of media industries with an analysis of business processes and participants will gain insight and learn the management skills that the sector needs.”
