A regional daily is set to launch a new Saturday edition this week.

The Leader, which covers Wrexham and Flintshire, is going to six days a week for the first time in its 44-year history.

The Newsquest-owned title, which is based in Mold, will have 96 pages and will be available for an introductory offer of 60p.

The new edition will include features such as a leisure section, seven-day TV guide and tips on a local walk.

An announcement by The Leader states: “Our fantastic new Saturday edition will complement the existing Monday to Friday Leaders’, as it too will be will be packed full of local news, sport, lifestyle and feature content for both Wrexham and Flintshire areas.

“From what’s happening on your street, at your local school, in your community council to how well your local sports teams are doing it will also have a jam-packed leisure section containing a seven-day TV guide, fashion and a local walk to get you out and about plus food and drink, gardening and travel suggestions.”

The Leader became part of Newsquest after the regional publisher’s purchase of NWN Media last year.
