Partygoer wears copy of regional daily as fancy dress outfit

A partygoer took inspiration for a fancy dress bash from a regional daily by wearing nothing but a copy of the newspaper as an outfit.

Gabriella West Hope, from Leeds, decided to don an edition of the Yorkshire Post for a party she was attending, which was held with the theme ‘A Touch of Yorkshire’.

Gabriella brought the dress to the Post’s attention after posting photographs of herself in the outfit to the paper’s official account on social networking site Instagram.

Posting a link to a follow-up story on Twitter, editor James Mitchinson described it as “reason we can’t go tabloid no. 126″.

The story by the Post described Gabriella’s choice of dress as “making headlines on social media”.

She told the paper: “We have an annual dinner party with a ‘touch of’ theme. This year was Yorkshire. This was a last-minute decision to go all out.”

In her post to the Post’s Instagram account, Gabriella added: “A touch of Yorkshire, Bridget Jones style. Everyone else has a flat cap on… keeping up with current affairs.”
