When will the fictional regional press learn? Earlier this year real-life journalists criticised Coronation Street writers over the poor design and content of the soap’s made-up newspaper the Weatherfield Gazette.
Now it’s the turn of the Chester Herald, featured in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, to face criticism from New European writer Matt Withers over the above legal howler.
However, in the Herald’s defence, University of Gloucestershire journalism lecturer Paul Wiltshire questioned: “Is she denying murder but admitting manslaughter?”
