Ex-daily business editor returns to hometown to edit regional news site

A daily newspaper’s former business editor has returned to his hometown to edit a specialist regional news website.

Mike Ribbeck has been appointed North-West editor of, which is based in Manchester.

Mike, pictured, is a former chief reporter with the Lancashire Telegraph and was also business editor of the Western Daily Press and Bristol Post before going into PR for the last 12 months.

Former Liverpool Echo and Manchester Evening News business journalist Neil Hodgson has also joined TheBusinessDesk as a reporter with particular focus on Liverpool, while deputy North-West editor Nick Jackson has left the company after three years to go freelance.
