A former international cricketer has taken on a new weekly column as part of a regional daily’s relaunch of its weekend edition.
The Yorkshire Post has signed up ex-England bowler Darren Gough to its team of columnists to coincide with the revamp.
Saturday’s Post featured a bigger Country Week supplement, new columnists in its sport and opinion section, more news pages and a revamped Property and Motors section.
A collection of recipe cards are also available to readers.
The weekend edition of the Leeds-based newspaper now costs £2.20, or £1.76 to subscribers.
Its previous cover price was £1.90, or £1.52 to subscribers.
Prior to the new look edition’s release on Saturday, editor James Mitchinson posted on Twitter: “All yours, Yorkshire. All yours. I think we’ve created something no other region has, nor deserves.
“I want to say thank you to my team, to our readers, our advertisers and to our new contributors.”
I’m sure the receipe cards will make all the difference.
Are the columns exclusive or syndicated I wonder?
