A regional daily business editor has been honoured with a prestigious award for economic journalism.
Mark Casci, of the Yorkshire Post, has been named Wincott journalist of the year 2017 in the UK nations and regions.
The prize is given annually by the Wincott Foundation, which was set up in 1969 in memory of Investors Chronicle editor and Financial Times columnist Harold Wincott.
Mark, pictured, has dedicated his win to the “whole team” at the Leeds-based Post.
He told HTFP: “Winning such an auspicious award alongside the best business journalists in the country is a great honour for me.
“The Yorkshire Post has been campaigning heavily for a fair deal on transport infrastructure and meaningful devolution at scale for this great region and I’m proud some of the reporting I contributed on these matters was recognised by the judges.
“The accolade is one for the whole team here who make me proud every day.”
